The club takes the social side of model railways very seriously and the Christmas Party held at the clubrooms on the 21st December 2003 was one of the best for several years. The new G Scale garden railway provided a fantastic backdrop for the festivities.
The celebration also marked the 80th birthday of long time member Len Hughes. He was presented with the surprise gift of a G Scale locomotive from the fellow members of the G Scale special interest group, scratch built by (then) Vice-President David Williams.
