DERAILMENT IN THE PILBARA

The trains they run in the North-West of Western Australia are some of the biggest, longest and heaviest trains in the world. Of course if you do things on a big scale, when things go wrong it is likely to be in a BIG way too!

The club takes the social side of model railways very seriously and the Christmas Party held at the clubrooms on the 21st December 2003 was one of the best for several years.

  1. May you have any events coming up in January of 2017, I’m too am a RAIL Fan coming to Perth from St. Paul, MN USA
Member of the Northstar Star Chapter of Northern Railway Histotical Society, Headquarterrs in Philadelphia, PAUSA.

    Thanks

  2. Hi Frank,

Sorry — no special rail events in January 2017 that I’m aware of. January is one of the hottest months of the year here I’m afraid, so not much tends to happen at that time rail-wise! However our model railway and the railway museum where we are located is open on every Sunday and Wednesday during January as it school holidays. You can find more info on our visiting page: http://www.wamrc.org.au/?page_id=653

    Cheers!

  3. Hi i am a young 14 year old just starting in the model railway hobby i have just purchased everything i need, i was wondering what i should bring to the first time i go as a visitor?

  4. Hi Ewan, probably best to come down to the club first to introduce yourself and have a look around. Then you will have a better idea of what we have to offer and what you could/should bring on subsequent visits. 🙂
